The Supreme Court is the highest court in the Republic of Cyprus. It is composed of thirteen judges and it is located in Nicosia.
The Supreme Court is the Appellate Court of Cyprus and has jurisdiction to hear all appeals from lower courts both in civil and criminal matters. In the exercise of its appellate jurisdiction the Supreme Court may uphold, vary or set aside the decision appealed from, or it may order a re-trial.
